Medical - Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric NurseThe Community Development Coordinator will work to develop local community and inter community networks to identify and implement suitable health promotion activities and projects, building on
local assets and removing physical and social barriers to healthy living. This position is designed to provide ongoing support and coordination for community driven initiatives that enhance healthy
living and promote long term positive health behavior change. A key responsibility of this position is to establish positive relationships with community organizations and other sectors through
activities such as a) partnership development, b) public participation, c) linking of initiatives between sectors d) building community capacity and e) outcome measurement of improved health and
well-being. The goals include increasing emphasis on health promotion, disease and injury prevention and improving coordination and integration with other health care services. This position aligns
with the AHS strategic priorities of healthy communities, responding to diverse needs, community engagement and reducing burden of disease.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 34.35 per hour Maximum: 45.72 per hour
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in related discipline required (e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Health Promotion, Social Sciences, etc). Master's degree preferred.
- 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a community/public health setting
- Previous experience in a community health environment an asset
- Broad understanding of health promotion with an emphasis on strengthening community action
- Able to conduct community assessments
- Broad knowledge of behavior change and group process
- Experience in community mobilization
- Applied project management, program planning and evaluation skills
- Demonstrated skills in analysis and interpretation of scientific literature
- Demonstrated skills in consultation, coaching and education processes
- Able to work effectively in team and community settings
- Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in work settings
- Able to have flexibility in hours of work
- Able to be self-directed and work under demanding and changing conditions
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of a variety of software programs
- Able to prioritize workload and work independently
- A valid Alberta driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for work
