Medical - Patient Care SupportReporting to the Manager, Clinicial Operations, the Recreation Therapist is a member of a multidisciplinatry outreach team, the Assertive Community
Treatment (ACT) Team. The team is comprised of nursing, social work, occupational therapy, recreation therapy, mental health clinicians, psychiatry and general medicine who function together to
provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services and case management functions for our clients with a severe and persistent mental illness. Interventions facilitate the clients' recovery and
community tenure. Team members collaborate with the client, family and other programs and agencies to provide quality, client-driven, culturally appropriate and integrated services. Each member
works independently with limited review, consultation and evaluation.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 30.07 per hour Maximum: 40.03 per hour
Qualifications:
- Graduate with a degree or diploma acceptable to the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
- Professional membership in the ATRA required.
- Evidence of continuing education in recreation therapy preferred.
- Experience working with people with a mental illness required.
- Experience in community-based mental health outreach preferred.
- Working knowledge of ACT Model is a definite asset.
- Clinicial skills necessary to conduct psychiatric and psychosocial assessment, treatment planning and crisis intervention.
- Knowledge of regional mental health and community resources an asset.
- Self-motivated; able to work both independetly and collaboratively in a team setting with excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Must demonstrate flexibility to practice within a continually changing health care environment.
- Must maintain CPR certification.
