The Lead, Executive Compensation and Employee Appreciation is a leadership role in the Compensation Department of the Total Rewards Division of Human Resources and reports directly to the Senior
Lead, Compensation.  This position is responsible and accountable for leading an operational team in the planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of Executive Compensation and Employee
Appreciation programs and services in support of the HR Strategy and strategic direction of Alberta Health Services.  The Lead, Executive Compensation and Employee Appreciation will develop and
maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and leaders, both internal and external; in order to provide operational leadership to and oversee all related programs and services.
 
The Lead, Executive Compensation and Employee Appreciation is accountable for branch objectives regarding implementation, operationalization, management and monitoring of provincially integrated
delivery of executive compensation and employee appreciation services and quality measurement programs in the most effective, leading manner. These include: 
- Development and implementation of executive compensation programs
- Provide annual compensation program recommendations based on review of peer group comparators and market positioning to ensure alignment with philosophy
- Executive contract management and administration
- Lead annual performance rewards (merit and incentive)
- Development and management of perquisite program
- Development and implementation of annual Total Compensation Statement
- Support annual financial reporting and auditor compliance
- Development and implementation of employee appreciation programs
- Ambassador for organizational wide culture of employee appreciation
The Lead, Executive Compensation and Employee Appreciation is also responsible for ensuring a proactive competitive outlook for programs and services within their scope to attract, retain, and
motivate the highest calibre of skilled and valued staff.

Rates of Pay: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
Qualifications:
- Minimum of baccalaureate degree in human resources, business administration, law or other related field
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or related compensation designation is preferred
- Professional designation (CHRP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years in a human resources role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (health care experience an asset) plus experience in a leadership role.
