Registered Nurse/registered Psych Nurse

Reporting to the Manager Psychiatric Emergency Services the Nurse in Psychiatric Emergency is responsible for assessing patients who present to the
Emergency Department in acute Psychiatric or Situational Crises. The nurse works with Psychiatrists and ED Physicians to determine dispositions for each patient. The Psych Emerg Nurse
also collaborates with a variety of departments including the Edmergency Department, inpatient Mental Health units, the Emergency Room Outreach Team(ERO0, the Mobile Response Team (MRT) and the
Police and Community Team (PACT) to determine appropriate dispositions for patients presentingn to the ED.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour   Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma required
- Registration with CARNA or CLPNA required
- Two to Three years Mental Health Nursing Experience Required
- Experience in Emergent or Urgent mental health preferred
- Sound understanding of DSM IV required
- Familiarity with community mental health resources an asset.
- Demonstrated track record of working independently, requiring minimal supervision
- Demonstrated track record of developing effective working relathionships with diverse health care providers
- Familiarity and comfort with computer required
