Medical - Social Work, Counselling and PsychologyAs part of a multidisciplinary team with the Children's day Treatment Program, and under the direction of the Supervisor, the Psychologist provides
assessment, treatment and transition support to children (and their families) who are experiencing significant and complex mental health issues and co-morbid conditions. The Psychologist provides
extensive consultation to the multidisciplinary team members, and also to other Alberta Health Services and community schools and agencies. Clinical research opportunities may be available and there
are expectations to be involved in a supervisory role with residents in the Alberta Children's Hospital Predoctoral Residency and psychology practicum students from the University of Calgary.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 44.03 per hour Maximum: 58.46 per hour
Qualifications:
- Doctoral level degree in clinical psychology preferably from a CPA and APA accredited graduate program
- All requirements must be completed including internship/residency and dissertation
- Registered as a Psychologist in Alberta (or eligible)
- Several; years of relevant post-doctoral clinical experience preferred.
- Graduate training in child psychopathology, assessment and intervention required
- Graduate training and clinical experience around adult psychopathology, assessment and treatment an asset
- Able to provide psycho-educational, socio-emotional and behavioral assessment and inn integrate multidisciplinary team findings to provide diagnoses, conceptualize the mechanisms underlying
difficulties, and to direct treatment planning for children with complex mental health, developmental, neurological and medical difficulties
- Provision of flexible treatment to children and families which focuses on their context, barriers to treatment, motivation for change, as well as their strengths and resources
- Intervention skills across a variety of modalities (individual, group, parent/family) and therapeutic approaches (eg., relational/attachment based, family systems and cognitive-behavioral)
- Intervention skills for disruptive behavior disorders, internalizing disorders, attachment-based difficulties, autism-spectrum disorders, learning disorders, and other developmental
difficulties
- Provision of clinical support and consultation in order to support children (and their families) improved functioning in their home and/or community school
- Provision of educational seminars and mentorship to frontline staff
- Skills in research, program planning and training
- Strong leadership skills and ability to facilitate collaborative and planful interventions
- Ability to be a team layer and strong communication skills required
- Ability to respond to crises in a planful manner and to be flexible around availability in order to meet family needs.
