Medical - Licensed Practical NurseUnder a physician's written or verbal order, the ROT is responsible to carry out the following technical procedures: Casting, splinting, removal of
sutures, staples, pins, wound care, dressings, assisting the physician with procedures and other related duties.
Assists with general duties as required primarily within the Urgent Care Center (and may assist with other services in the South Calgary Health Center, if needed).
The South Calgary Health Centre (SCHC), located in southeast Calgary, offers a wide range of services including urgent care, mental health, public health, home care, specialty clinics and community
outreach.
The Urgent Care Centre (UCC) is open 16 hours a day, seven days a week and provides care for unscheduled non-life threatening health conditions to a diverse population, as part of an integrated
community service delivery model.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 29.82 per hour Maximum: 39.26 per hour
Qualifications:
- Current registration with CLPNA, with a CLPNA recognized orthopedic training program required.
- Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologists (CSOT) certificate preferred.
- BCLS certification required.
- Must have at least one year experience in an orthopedic environment or hold a current membership with the CSOT.
-Working knowledge of clean/sterile techniques & dressing changes related to wound care.
- Determine & complete safe transfers/lifts of patients.
- Perform the required range of casting/splinting techniques with skill & efficiency.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required.
- Other related duties, as required, and covered under CLPNA.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills, within scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision making ability.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills required.
- Ability to work under fast-paced, demanding and changing conditions.
- Computer skills an asset
