Medical - Therapist and Therapy AssistantReporting to the Manager of the Alberta Health Services, Chronic Pain Centre, the Kinesiologist is responsible for assessment, teaching and training
related to physical fitness and active leisure activities for patients with severe chronic pain. The Kinesiologist works collaboratively with other members of the clinical team to further develop the
program's ability to provide excellence in service delivery, education and research. This position provides collaboration within other Alberta Health Services and community programs and provides and
facilities a variety of kinesiology interventions, including numerous group programs and educational lectures.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.73 per hour Maximum: 43.55 per hour
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Kinesiology with specific training in biomechanics, exercise, health physiology and leisure activity counseling.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a pain management or relevant chronic disease treatment setting.
- Experience with developing exercise-based treatment plans for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Experience with developing exercise-based treatment plans for patients with chronic headaches.
- Knowledgeable regarding biomechanics, exercise prescription and progression, cardiovascular fitness evaluation in individuals with physical impairments, ergonomic evaluation.
- Excellent individual and group teaching skills with individuals who have physical impairments, and may be reluctant to extend their repertoire of activities.
- Ability to function effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Program development skills.
- Effective teaching skills for patients, colleagues and students.
- Computer skills or prepared to acquire these skills.
- Self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision
