Stores Attendant

Under supervision, performs moderately complex clerical and manual duties involved in the shipping, receiving, warehousing, auditing, and distribution of
lab specimens, supplies and equipment in accordance with set guidelines and standards. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the transportation of supplies, equipment and patients.
Performs cleaning and equipment maintenance duties within the site as necessary, along with mail sorting and delivery to user areas within the site.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 18.95 per hour   Maximum: 20.57 per hour
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Certificate of training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods desired.
- Training in Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems desired.
- Recent experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing and material handling within a hospital setting is required.
- Recent experience in a computerized inventory control system required, preferably of Medical/Surgical supplies used in a hospital environment.
- Experience in the use of a computer and application software (Microsoft Office) with good speed and accuracy in data entry required.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English fluently is required.
- Ability to perform basic accounting functions are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and vendors required.
- Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs.
- Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time.
- Reliable, cooperative, and able to demonstrate effective service attitude
