Aide I

The Service Aide is a member of the health care team performing supportive activities that contribute to the function of patient care in the Emergency
Department. The person in this position is responsible for the stocking, organizing and tracking of equipment and supplies in the Emergency Department. Direct supervision/accountability is provided
by the Assistant Patient Care Manager, with direct work delegation by the nursing staff.

Employee Class: Regular Part Time
Rates of Pay: Minimum: 16.24 per hour   Maximum: 17.73 per hour
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Grade 10 required. Grade 12 preferred.
- Experience in a health care environment required.
- Previous Emergency department experience preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of Emergency supplies and equipment preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexible and capable of working independently.
- Ability to cope with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to prioritize workload to facilitate patient flow.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Able to receive direction and feedback from care providers.
- Presents self in a positive manner to patients, families, care providers and the multidisciplinary team
