Licensed Practical Nurse

RGH Unit 83 is a fast paced, dynamic Colo-Rectal and General Surgery Unit. The Licensed Practical Nurse is an integral health care team member delivering
quality care to the Colo-Rectal and General Surgical patients. Duties and responsibilities are within the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) and Alberta Health Services
Policies.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 22.70 per hour   Maximum: 29.72 per hour
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- Current successful completion of a BCLS program is required.
- Current/active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required.
- Current experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in an acute care setting required.
- Experience working to Full Scope of Practice an asset (including medication administration).
- Current experience with clinical skills related to IV Therapy, Central Lines, PICC Lines, Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA), Narcan Administration required.
- Current experience with Wound/Skin and Ostomy Care, Nasogastric drains, wound drains, O2 Therapy required.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required.
- Critical thinking skills within scope of practice, including clinical judgment and problem solving skills.
- Professional, mature manner.
- Evidence of continued professional development and education required
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
- Heavy lifting as well as repetitive movements are necessary during the course of performing duties on this unit.
- Basic computer skills and with SCM program are an asset
