Medical - Management and Business ProfessionalAlberta Health Services has an exciting, progressive opportunity for a Web Communications Manager. We are looking for an action- and service-oriented
individual to support AHS in the development, strategy and management of our internal and external web presence while aligning to Alberta Health Services strategic direction. This leadership role
requires a strong understanding of online communication strategies and best practices and will appeal to those with an interest in social media web strategy. The candidate will be expected to develop
a strong network of contacts across the provincial organization and assume a visible, dynamic role within AHS.
Responsibilities:
- Manage AHS' web presence, developing strategies to drive increased web traffic and exploring new communications and interactive mediums, including social media, to advance AHS' strategic
direction.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and a broad range of communication experts to deliver consistent online communication solutions while following best practices and
emerging trends.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and make recommendations to senior management as the opportunities arise.
- Provide timely co-ordination of employee communication through a range of online channels to ensure ease of access, clarity and consistency.
- Proactively anticipate issues and/or organizational challenges and develop mitigating strategies.
- Develop online strategies, processes and workflows to improve efficiencies.
- Participate in the planning, development and delivery of innovative change communications across the organization.
- Conduct competitive reviews and monitor industry developments
- Develop and implement appropriate measures to assess the effectiveness of communications and take corrective action where needed

Rates of Pay: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
Qualifications:
- A degree in Communications, Management Information Systems or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive online experience with a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a communications/public relations capacity.
- Proven experience in implementing Web 2.0 solutions for large scale audiences.
- CMS experience a must. Open Text RedDot is an asset.
- Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, Webtrends, HTML and JavaScript.
- In-depth knowledge of the Internet and current advancements in Web technologies - Web 2.0, Enterprise 2.0.
- Experience with website management, including design and implementation strategy; measurement and workflow.
- Demonstrated success in delivering large, multi-phase projects across organizational boundaries.
- Ability to manage people and build highly motivated and empowered teams
