Medical - Management and Business ProfessionalThe Manager, Nutrition Services has a key leadership role in Nutrition Services, Pediatric Programs and reports directly to the Nutrition Services
Director, Children's Hospitals, Pediatric Programs. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of Nutrition Services,
as per assigned area in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities also will include the integration of various resources to carry out these
activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of
the Nutrition Services.
The Manager, Nutrition Services will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership for Nutrition Services, as per assigned area.
The Manager, Nutrition Services is also responsible for:
- Supporting provincial partnerships and collaboration that promotes the delivery of high quality, sustainable and equitable services
- Leadership and direction on nutrition service activities for dietitians
- Strategic and operational planning of nutrition services in assigned area programs and service areas
- Coordination of the development, delivery and evaluation of Nutrition Service programs
- Coordinates and implements quality and service initiatives
- Ensures that standards of practice specific to program areas are developed and implemented
- Addresses issues related to the delivery of nutrition in assigned area.
- Participates in the design and implementation of management information systems and uses data to document, monitor and evaluate nutrition services
- Participates in the development of policies to ensure efficient and effective referral to programs, communication to external agencies, other health care professionals and clients.
- Under the leadership and direction of the Nutrition Services Director, explores opportunities for partnerships that will ensure delivery of effective and evidence based nutrition services for
clients
- Development and administration of service agreements
The Manager, works within Alberta Health Services' clinical dyad model of physician and administrative co-leads to advance accessible and quality patient-focused health services in a sustainable
manner.

Rates of Pay: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Baccalaureate of Science degree specializing in Foods and Nutrition or equivalent from a recognized University program. Masters degree
in a related program is preferred.
- Practice permit from the College of Dietitians.
- A minimum of 5 years in a management role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset).
- A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
- Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
- Valid Alberta drivers licence.
- Proficient in the use computers for communication, scheduling, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas:
- Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including 5 years experience in a management role in healthcare operations
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services
- Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others
- Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues
- Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment
- Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector.
- Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
