Medical - Therapist and Therapy AssistantUnder general direction: plan, implement and evaluate diagnostic & therapeutic respiratory care and services to assist physicians in the diagnosis
and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participate actively in the education of patients, students, staff, physicians and self; provide technical support for all
equipment related to the hospital based practice of Respiratory Therapy. Current area of work assignment is 'CV-ICU', but could be changed based on operational needs.

Employee Class: Temporary Full Time
Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.29 per hour Maximum: 41.50 per hour
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
- Registered with the College & Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta.
- Successful completion of the CARTA or CSRT certification examination or recognized equivalent.
- Current Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists registered member preferred.
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience required.
- Current BCLS Certification required.
- Current ACLS certification an asset.
- Current general duty Respiratory Therapy knowledge and skills required.
- Current CV-ICU experience prefered.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, take responsibility and self-organize in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary patient care team.
- Demonstrated ability to interact positively with staff, students, physicians, patient and visitors.
- Demonstrated ability to advocate effectively for patients.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer user skills required.
