Medical - Clerical and AdministrativeWorking under the general guidance of the Patient Registration Supervisor, this position performs a variety of clerical duties related to interviewing
patients/parents to obtain correct demographic information, entering information into a variety of ADT computer systems, completing registrations, answering phones, directing clients appropriately
and other related duties.
This position serves as a point of initial contact for persons seeking treatment at SMCHC through any of the Patient Registration areas. Duties could include answering telephones, greeting the
public, booking appointments and directing individuals accordingly, relieving staff on other floors requiring patient registration within the health centre.
The employee shall maintain confidentiality of all AHS information in accordance with HIA, FOIP and other privacy legislations in effect and shall comply at all times with AHS's Information Privacy
and Information and Information Security policies.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 19.96 per hour Maximum: 23.19 per hour
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent required.
- Medical Terminology required.
- Admitting Clerk Course/Medical Office Assistant/Unit Clerk course and/or experience satisfactory to the employer.
- Experience working within an integrated health centre environment preferred.
- Excellent telephone, public relations and reception skills.
- Accurate data entry and computer skills. 40 WPM (net) required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Windows, Phantim, Clinibase, Anonymous Patient Process, Redis, Databases, Alberta Health and Wellness Directory and on-line appointment scheduling.
- Knowledge of immunization schedules and communicable diseases would be an asset.
- Excellent Time management, multitasking and interpersonal skills required.
- Experience completing and processing health care forms ie. patient chargeables, Alberta Health Care applications, out of country, immigration, program related forms etc.
- Ability to communicate with clients of varying ages, socio-economic status and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with constant interruptions and changing work demands.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under stress and to work independently
