Therapy Assistant

This is a rehabilitation support position for Community ACcessible Rehabilitation (CAR). The job primarily entails running group and individual therapy
interventions under the direction of licensed Physical, Occupational and/or Speech-Language Therapists. The job also secondarily entails support work such as: ordering supplies, preparing for
rehabilitation groups, cleaning up, etc.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 20.33 per hour   Maximum: 24.61 per hour
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a community college Physical or Occupational Therapist Assistant Diploma program required.
- Must be competent at sewing and developing simple patterns.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Experience in acute or community rehabilitation an asset.
- New graduates will be considered.
- General Allied Health orientation program will be provided.
- On the job training in either OT or PT assistant skills if academic training has only resulted in training in one field.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with patients and staff.
- Must have good written and verbal English skills.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team
