Medical - Therapist and Therapy Assistant

Under general supervision from the Clinical Leader, the Occupational Therapist I performs professional duties relating to the interdisciplinary
assessment, treatment, education and management of patients using all appropriate occupational therapy modalities and techniques. The Occupational Therapist is a member of an interdisciplinary
rehabilitation team where a prime therapist/case management model is being implemented. The team provides treatment to complex and/or chronic clients in an outpatient setting. The Occupational
Therapist I ensures that his/her practice is evidence-based, client centered and meets Occupational Therapy clinical standards of practice. This position is currently assigned to the Neuro/Frail
Elderly and/or Debilitated Team, but may be expected to treat some clients on the Musculoskeletal/Upper Extremity Team.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.73 per hour   Maximum: 43.55 per hour
Qualifications:
- Licensed by the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists to practice in Occupational Therapy.
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy.
- Must be able to use considerable independent judgment and initiative to decide whether treatment requested is suitable for the condition and if contraindications exist.
- Experience in treating neurological conditions and the frail elderly is desired.
- Experience treating musculoskeletal and upper extremity conditions is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work within an interdisciplinary team required.
- May be required to rotate to different services on different sites.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Basic computer skills are an asset

$43.55/per hour
