Medical - Clerical and AdministrativeWorking under the general supervision and guidance of the Manager, Admitting, this position performs a variety of clerical duties related to interviewing
patients/parents to obtain correct demographic information, entering information on the ADT computer system, completing registrations and admissions.
The position serves as a point of initial contact for persons seeking treatment at or admission to the hospital through any of the Main, Emergency or satellite Admitting areas. The position collects
hospital fees for uninsured and out-of-country services.
Other duties include answering telephones, greeting the public, and directing individuals accordingly.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 19.96 per hour Maximum: 23.19 per hour
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent required.
- Medical Terminology required.
- Post secondary education applicable to the position and or experience satisfactory to the employer.
- Experience in a health care or medical office setting preferred.
- Prior experience working with the public an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of the English Language both written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful at all times.
- Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills 40-50 wpm required.
- Demonstrated proficiency of Netscape and Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access).
- Demonstrated ability to work well under stress.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Skilled at paying close attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to work all shifts based on operational needs.
- Equipment troubleshooting-Printer, Embosser, Computer
