Physical Therapist I

The Foothills Medical Centre is an Acute Care hospital with over 900 beds. It is also the Trauma Centre for Southern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia
and Western Saskatchewan. FMC has a Neuro Tertiary Unit as well as the majority of In Patient Neurological services in Calgary.
The Allied Health Department works collaboratively with all the clinical teams spread across the whole campus of the Foothills Medical Centre, including the upcoming opening of the new McCaig Tower
which will house state of the art ICU and Operating Rooms.
All staff hired into the Allied Health Department may be required to work in a variety of settings across the Campus.  
The present caseload for this position is in Medicine/Surgery, this may be subject to change based on operational considerations. Under general supervision from the Clinical Leader and Allied Health
Supervisors, this position is responsible for the assessment of patients referred to the service as well as development, implementation and evaluation of individual treatment programs according to
professional practice standards.
This position will also be considered for 12 hour shifts in a 2 week rotation.
This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive lifting and transferring of patients and or equipment.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.73 per hour   Maximum: 43.55 per hour
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master's level degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent.
- Active license with CPTA.
- CPR required - BLS for Health Care Providers Level C.
- Recent experience providing physiotherapy interventions to patients in an acute hospital setting preferred.
- Effective self management skills and demonstrated initiative.
- Able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
