Registered Nurse

Reporting to the Care Manager, the registered nurse will be a member of an integrated service delivery team providing care and treatment to clients in
the Acute Care and Emergency Departments of the Oilfields Hospital. Utilizing professional knowledge, clinical judgment technical and interpersonal skills. The registered nurse will provide care to
Acute Care and Emergency room clients within the guidelines and standards of CARNA.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour   Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved nursing program.
- Current CARNA registration required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing as asset.
- Understand the principles of the nursing process and able to apply this conceptual knowledge to the clinical situation.
- Understand the delivery of care to Acute Care and emergency room clients includes an understanding of health promotion and disease and injury prevention.
- Understands the concepts and delivery of nursing care in a rural community.
- Co-ordinates client care with other health team members, appropriate agencies and family members.
- Ensures appropriate, comprehensive care is delivered by maintaining complete and accurate health records and participating in chart review.
- Participates and has an interest/understanding of interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary teams.
- Participates in preceptoring/mentoring student placements.
- Demonstrates ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads.
- Demonstrates strong prioritization and assessment skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, decision making interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability to respond to new needs in the role, as they arise, with initiative and self directedness.
- Preferably 3-5 years of current emergency experience.
- Recent nursing experience in a rural community setting an asset.
