Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse in PACU is responsible for providing nursing care to patients post anesthesia. The successful candidate must have effectively
demonstrated safe, competent, and ethical care through previous professional roles.  A family centered care approach is essential.

Location: Alberta Children's Hospital
Employee Class: Temporary Part Time
Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour   Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current or eligible for CARNA registration.
- Current PACU experience or completion of a PACU certificate program required.
- Candidates without PACU experience with current critical care experience will be considered.
- Current Pediatric experience required.
- BCLS is required.
- PALS/ENPC an asset.
- Current certification in IV initiation, medication administration, CVC, and blood glucose monitoring required.
- Charge nurse experience an asset.
- Astute assessment skills required.
- Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment.
- Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates communication skills promoting respect in the workplace.
- Demonstrates professional activities through professional membership organizations (i.e. PANA)
