Medical - Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric NurseAs a member of the Screening and Early Detection, Chronic Disease Team within the Department of Screening Programs, Population and Public Health, the
Health Promotion Nurse supports the development and implementation of population based screening and early detection (risk reduction) initiatives for key priority areas related to chronic
diseases.
The Health Promotion Nurse fills a key position in providing and assisting individuals, families, selected groups and communities to engage in activities for Health Promotion, Prevention, Protection,
Health Maintenance and Restoration.. The Nurse has direct responsibilities within a Population Health model to assess key health determinants and respond to global, national, provincial and local
mandates.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. Master's degree in nursing or health related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience in health promotion or project management.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of chronic diseases prevention and screening.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the principles of program development,implementation and evaluation
- Experience related to working with partnership and committees
- Community Health Nursing experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, implement and manage short and long-term plans and projects.
- Effective communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and facilitate collaboration.
- Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with AHS staff and other partners.
- Group facilitation skills including demonstrated ability and comfort with leading, decision-making, coaching, teaching and mentoring.
- A strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to search out and evaluate best evidence required.
- Experience working independently within a large organization with a variety of staffing groups.
- Knowledge and skills related to adult learning principles (online, face to face).
- Member of CARNA.
