Registered Nurse

The FMC campus is growing and will soon include the newly completed McCaig Tower, opening Fall 2010.  The Registered Nurse (RN) on Unit 64 will work as a
member of a strong interdisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of Orthopedic patients in the acute care phase.  The RN will
provide leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, and preventing illness, injury and
disability.  The RN will maintain competent practice and provide care according to Registered Nursing professional regulation.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour   Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Current active registration with CARNA required
- Current BLS required
- 1 - 2 years recent acute care RN experience preferred
- Recent orthopedic / surgical RN experience preferred
- Charge RN experience preferred (interest in working in Charge an asset - training available)
- Experience in caring for elderly patients with complex medical/social problems an asset
- Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking abilities
- Demonstrated organizational skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of orthopedic equipment preferred
- Basic computer skills required
