Security Officers

- To provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, patients, and visitors.
- Carry out all required duties in a lawful and consistent manner.
- Appropriate response to emergent situations.
- Report and investigate irregularities: patrols, controlling access within and out of the centre.
- Assist Clinical staff with patient interventions.
- Equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
- Escort patients within the centre.
- Assist Clinical Staff in the Emergency Room, and Patient Care Units.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 23.21 per hour   Maximum: 28.32 per hour
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Post secondary education in a related field or law enforcement is an asset.
- First Aid and CPR an asset
- Preference given to individuals with recent law enforcement and or security experience
- Proven multi-tasking and effective decision-making abilities in a stressful environment.
- The most difficult problems revolve around interactions with patients. Crisis intervention with violent confrontations.
- he appropriate deployment of staff in emergent situations, eg: fire, violent patients, weapons.
- Making recommendations regarding safety/ security of staff, patients and avoidance or reduction of liability
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary Team.
- Criminal records check will be required.
- Drivers abstract will be required.
- Must be eligible for appointment as a Community Peace Officer Level II
