Medical - Clerical and AdministrativeUnder the general supervision of the Site Supervisor, Chart Management, this position will be responsible for the deficiency management function for
inpatient, day surgery and day medicine episodes of care. This includes reviewing clinical documentation on the chart to ensure it is completed according to established policies and procedures and
updating the electronic chart management system to reflect deficiencies which have been identified as requiring completion. This individual is also the key contact regarding deficiency management
issues and acts as a resource to health care providers regarding deficiency management.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 19.96 per hour Maximum: 23.19 per hour
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma, supplemented by office assistant courses and/or health record related courses, required.
- English language skills in reading, writing and oral communication, required.
- Completion of a recognized medical terminology course, required.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology within the last five years required.
- Previous hospital experience in an office environment within the last five years, required.
- Accurate data entry and keyboarding skills, required.
- Ability to work with personal computer and various types of office equipment, including fax machine, photocopier, and printers.
- Ability to use sound judgment and analytical skills to make decisions regarding deficiency management criteria in conjunction with the established policies and procedures required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, required.
- Ability to concentrate on detail for extended periods of time, required.
- Ability to foster positive interpersonal and communication skills with health care providers, allied health care professionals, peers, departmental management and other individuals who access our
service in a professional manner.
- Ability to work well within a team environment i.e. with Regional Manager, Regional Supervisor, and Site Supervisor of Chart Management and with the chart management peers both on site-specific and
regional basis, as well as with peers from other areas within Health Record Services, required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts required.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions and still meet workload timelines, required.
- Ability to move and lift moderately (up to 50 pounds) heavy objects, required.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment, including fax, photocopier and personal computer, required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work related travel
