Registered Nurse

This position is for an inpatient staff nurse primary to Unit 1. Unit 1 is an inpatient unit that primarily treats patients with hematological disorders, cancers and provides care for those
patients that require stem cell, cord blood or bone marrow transplants. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the safe administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy agents, frequent accessing
and care of CVC's as well as frequent administration of blood products/components. Unit 1 staff nurses also provide teaching and support to patients and families within the program regarding
chemotherapeutic agents, diagnoses and treatment protocols. A close working relationship is required between all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team as well as strong communication
skills.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour   Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Current CARNA registration required
- Current CPR certification required
- Possessing strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated skill and ability in patient and family education
- Experience with CVC care (Level I and II certification preferred)
- APHON chemotherapy certification an asset
- 2-4 years recent pediatric experience preferred
- Pediatric oncology experience required
- Must have a positive attitude and demonstrate the ability to contribute to a positive work environmen
