Medical - Clerical and AdministrativeUnder the direct supervision of the Patient Care and Unit Managers, the Casual Clerk lV for Cardiorespiratory, GI, Diabetes, Endocrine, Vision and Sensory Services works to
assist/support and maintain day to day clinic functioning. This position requires proficiency in multi-tasking for high volume clinics in busy clinical environments. Duties include a range of
stocking, filing, management of charts and supplies. Phone skills are required for staff and patient/family interaction as well as proficiency and knowledge of Clinibase and Scheduler.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 22.22 per hour Maximum: 25.48 per hour
Qualifications:
- High school graduate (grade 12)
- Related post secondary prepatory program
- Medical terminology
- Four (4) - five (5) years related experience in a health care setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective telephone skills
- Ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Displays initiative and well developed organizational, time management and decision making skills.
- Maintaining and ensuring confidentiality
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Strong communication skills in working with clinic staff and the public/patient population
- Chart assembly, chart maintenance, filing of lab results and ensuring that charts are organized for clinic day
- Prepares and disseminates clinic schedules/templates, patient lists and chart requests
- Stocking of chart supplies and any necessary related equipment/forms
- Knowledge of operation of fax machines and photocopier
- Photocopy as required
- Porters paperwork and/or equipment to appropriate department
- Experience with electronic patient Scheduler system and ability to monitor and manage complex clinic schedules and book patient appointments during clinic, if required
- Skilled in the use and application of Microsoft Word, Excel, experience with database management an asset and minute recording
- Strong knowledge of medical, clinic and hospital policy and procedures
- Ability to work in a team setting and ability to adapt to change
- Manages stressful situations with empathy and demonstrates respect for others by being tactful, courteous and diplomatic at all times
