ICU Outreach Team RN

- Coordinates Outreach activities during their shift.
- Participates in measures for continuing education specific to the ICU Outreach Program.
- Provides ongoing education & feedback to the staff on the PCU regarding the Outreach Team & Outreach calls.
- Responds to all ICU Outreach & code blue calls to provide direct patient care.
- Coordinates discharges and follow up to Outreach and post code blue patients remaining on the PCU; septic patients in the ER department and on the PCU; and ICU patients at risk of
readmission.
- Provides leadership in critical care Quality Improvement projects related to the Outreach Team, Sepsis and re admissions.
- In collaboration with the Regional Coordinator, is responsible for participating in the development, implementation and evaluation of the program.
- Collaborate in or lead research initiatives.
- Is responsible for the care of the critically ill patient with multi system failure.
- Will be a member of the unit and collaborate with staff to assist in caring for patients; covering breaks & acting as a float if necessary as directed by the unit manager or Nurse
Clinician.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour   Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Current CARNA Registration required
- Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred.
- ACLS an asset.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- ACCN an asset.
- Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in critical care an asset.
- 3 to 5 years ICU experience required.
 -Medical/surgical  nursing experience an asset.
 -Experience in quality improvement methodology an asset
- Experience in program development and evaluation an asset.
- Experience in managing change processes required.
- Experience in team building required.
- Skilled communication with other health care professionals required.
