Medical - Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric NurseThis position is for an outpatient staff nurse in the Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant (HOT) clinic. This position will be primary to
oncology patients who are in the short term follow up phase of their treatment. Responsibilities will include the coordination and planning of all aspects of care for patients and families within
Alberta, western Saskatchewan and eastern British Columbia. This position involves assessment, consultation, education and hands on care of children and families followed through the HOT clinic at
ACH. Strong communication skills are required in working with the multidisciplinary health care team of the HOT program in providing family centered care. A primary nurse in the HOT clinic must have
an in-depth knowledge of oncologic disorders, the treatment associated with these disorders and the ability to educate families on all aspects of the disease treatment process. This position will be
required to cross cover within the HOT program and dayroom.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Current CARNA registration required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills.
- Possessing strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated skill and ability in patient and family education.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills required.
- Strong ability to prioritize and attention to detail required in order to work in a very busy ambulatory setting.
- APHON chemotherapy certification preferred.
- Minimum 2-4 years recent pediatric oncology experience required.
- Must have a positive attitude and demonstrate the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
