Licensed Practical Nurse

Under the supervision of the Nurse Clinician and GI Managers, the LPN provides quality patient care within the Gastroenterology Endoscopy Unit.  This
position acts as an integral member of the Gastroenterology Patient Admission and Recovery Room patient care team.  The LPN is the primary care provider admitting patients to the Admission/Recovery
Room, performing initial patient assessments, IV initiation, providing post - procedure patient care and discharge teaching as well as assisting with the reprocessing of scopes. The successful
candidate must be physically capable of transporting patients on a stretcher. The LPN will be cross - trained for the GI outpatient clinic to allow for more flexibility in GI operations. Current
hours of operation are Monday to Friday 0700 - 1815 - these hours are anticipated to change to meet operational requirements.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 22.70 per hour   Maximum: 29.72 per hour
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved LPN course required.
- Current CLPNA membership required.
- Certification in BCLS required.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Certification and experience in IV therapy required.
- Previous experience working with GI patients highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in GI Outpatients/assisting with Sigmoidoscopies preferred.
- Previous experience recovering patients from conscious sedation preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment as part of a multi - disciplinary team member required.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Excellent  time management and organizational skills required.
- Intermediate computer skills required
