Medical - Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric Nurse

The Public Health Nurse empowers individuals, families and selected groups to facilitate healthy outcomes and contributes to improving overall health of
the public by providing public health nursing services which include: health assessment, consultation and teaching appropriate to all development phases throughout the life span, working in
collaboration with community partners, appropriate health promotion services including vaccination, screening, referrals, follow-up, education, and client advocacy.  The Public health Nurse fosters
appropriate use of the health care system on behalf of clients, and facilitates cooperation and coordination among the many health and social services agencies in the Public Health - Calgary Zone, as
well as collects and reports client based data.  The position requires involvement in nursing or other health research.  This position has a well child focus.

Employee Class: Temporary Full Time
Rates of Pay: Minimum: 32.34 per hour   Maximum: 42.45 per hour
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing required.
- Preferably two (2) years nursing experience.
- Recent public health nursing experience an asset.
- Canadian Community Health Nursing Certification an asset.
- Active registration with CARNA.
- Ability to be self directed, and able to exercise independent nursing judgment.
- Evidence of active participation in professional and community activities an asset.
- Current CPR certification required.
- A valid Alberta drivers license and access to a vehicle required.
- Experience in assessment, consultation and teaching.
- Exercise independent nursing judgment.
- Current Well Child experience required

$42.45/per hour
