Medical - Patient Care SupportThe Nursing Attendant in the ICU will work under direct supervision of Registered Nurses to provide direct basic nursing care, patient supervision and
support services to a defined group of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- The Nursing Attendant will be a member of a patient care delivery team.
- The Nursing Attendant will include assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, turning, ambulation, and transfer and repositioning of patients.
- The Nursing Attendant will assist in covering patients during breaks with RNs in attendance through direct observation.
- The Nursing Attendant will be a member of the Cardiac Arrest Team on an assignment basis.
- The Nursing Attendant will ensure the provision of supplies and equipment to the patient care area in which they are assigned.
- The Nursing Attendant will clean equipment related to direct patient care.
The ideal candidate will have had experience in a health care environment in which direct patient care is required.

Rates of Pay: Minimum: 17.09 per hour Maximum: 20.79 per hour
Qualifications:
- PCA course or equivalent experience.
- Experience in providing personal care including basic hygiene and patient transfers preferred.
- BCLS certification required.
- Effective relationships demonstrated while working in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and families in a rapidly changing environment is required.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with a team.
- Experience in critical care an asset.
- Frequent independent lifting of heavy lifting of up to 25 lbs required.
- Pushing of beds and equipment is required.
- Ability to transfer and reposition patients on a regular basis with assistance of other care givers is required frequently.
- Ability to assist staff in rapid transport of equipment such as a crash cart to an emergency is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment is required
